Breaking The Illusion
Publish Date: Sun 4th May 2025
The consciousness shift that has been taking place these past few years has resulted in many rapid changes in our collective reality. As people continue to question and expand their minds, the resistance in our physical world may seem more extreme. Conflict, oppression, financial restrictions, instability, detachment and a lack of passion & creativity are all themes that have been heightened during this time.
The unpredictable nature of our ever-changing existence is stirring up deep emotional wounds that exist beyond ourselves but includes ones we carry ancestrally too. So, if you have been feeling overwhelmed or questioning why you have such unexplained intense emotions, this is likely why.
This transition that is taking place is shaking us to our very core, challenging all old beliefs and severing our dependence on this current collapsing system. This can manifest for each of us in various ways including:
Your relationship with money may be highlighted, exposing any discomfort or issues around self-worth and value. These can stem from deep rooted programmes, including not feeling good enough, or hyper independence generated from trauma that can leave you closed off from being in the energy of receiving.
You could also be feeling a strong sense of dissatisfaction and frustration with the notion of trading your time and energy solely for money, wishing instead to spend your time resting and enjoying life—yet still finding yourself anxious about how to meet your basic needs.
It’s not a coincidence that many are experiencing these emotions around money and stability, it’s in direct correlation to the fact that our current structures of living are unnatural. Whilst the concept of reciprocal exchange has always been in place in African societies – the exploitative nature of capitalism seeks to consume our time and keep us in a continual state of financial bondage. On an energetic level we are outgrowing this paradigm, which is why so many of us may be experiencing this conflict within our current reality – encouraging us to address our relationship with money.
You may have also noticed that you have become more attuned with the language of your body and the various ways it speaks. Physical exhaustion and health challenges can act catalysts to slow down and revaluate what really holds value in our lives. Reinforcing the message that no matter how much we have become dependent on money to exist in this society our health should always be the priority.
There is a massive ancestral call to reclaim our health & bodies. The focus on health, rest & self-care have been consistent themes over the past few years and the messages are getting stronger. Living life in survival mode is taking its toll and is no longer sustainable. Deprogramming ourselves from these colonial structures requires us to no longer uphold the old ways of living and burn-out is a symptom of existing in this unhealthy system.
We are being called to attune ourselves with our own natural rhythms and our bodies are literally screaming at us to listen! To become aware of the aches and imbalances. To allow ourselves to rest when we feel tired. To not fall into the trap of always needing to be productive and to instead nurture and nourish ourselves.
Prioritising our health and wellbeing is an act of rebellion against this colonial system as it stands in direct contrast to what we have been conditioned to do. Resting, regulating our nervous system, dancing, movement, nutrition, meditation are all effective ways that we can regain harmony within our bodies, that will in turn manifest as positive changes in our outer reality.
Conflicts in our relationships: these moments provide clarity in areas that are yet to be resolved. Whether friends, family, colleagues etc. Our relationships with others act as mirrors to help us better understand ourselves, these conflicts are lessons, sometimes highlighting that a relationship has run its course and it’s time to part ways, they could also be indicators of affirming the need for stronger boundaries. These conflicts also allow us to increase our ability to listen, have empathy and put ourselves in the other persons shoes. These situations challenge us to move away from simply pointing the finger, but to reflect on our own actions and evaluate the lessons embedded within.
You may have also noticed a lack of passion or direction in life, even if previously the road ahead seemed clear. You may find that what you previously enjoyed is not the same or that your creativity is not flowing. In these moments, we can often be hard on ourselves since we have been conditioned to always have a goal or purpose to work towards. Without that, life may seem aimless, but what if that is the point? What if we are being asked to simply be? To become aware of how ‘uncomfortable’ it feels? What if we are being taught to be comfortable with feeling uncomfortable?
When we allow ourselves to let go and release any judgement about ourselves, we naturally give space for creativity and passion to flow. There is power in giving grace to ourselves during whatever experience we may be going through, when we release the need to force a result and stop seeing ourselves as ‘failing’, or believing that things are going ‘wrong’ or too ‘slowly’ we can simply allow ourselves to be.
Another experience that many may be feeling is the sense of detachment, brokenness and not connected to reality. You may feel the necessity to isolate, reduce time on social media, retreat into nature to be present with your own energy. This is an intuitive call to ground ourselves by connecting with what’s natural. Nature is our greatest healer and through immersing ourselves in bodies of water, walking bare feet, sitting under trees, basking in the sun, we can energetically cleanse and charge our bodies to help us navigate through these transformative times.
Whatever you may be experiencing, know that you are not alone – it is sacred work to be aware of your emotional fluctuations and to allow yourself to observe and not repress them. True strength comes from honesty and transparency, this is how we continue Breaking the Illusion.
