Tonya, great interview and wise encouraging words. The Yoruba ancestral tradition is open to followers of all skin colour and speaks of couplings of initiates with different skin colour in the patakins (age old stories used as examples of actions and advice in various situations) and according to the Ita (spiritual reading and advice and taboos) of each person which is received once initiated. Spiritually we are all from Africa as the human race originated there. Indigenous traditions worldwide understandably have much in common and are ancestral and nature based unlike modern religions. It’s true that each person can start by acknowledging love for themselves and revering their ancestors prior to any formal initiation. Ache. Blessings
