The first episode in the ‘Watch & Learn Symposium’ series – a LIVE online classroom to explore and delve deeply into specific aspects of African Cosmology and practices.

The learning resource for this session is ‘Nature’s Sacred Healing Corpus’, the 2025 lecture on the sacred relationships between humans and plants and the principles that inform this dynamic interchange, the correlation between African spiritual uses of plants and their corresponding evidenced clinical therapeutic effects. It also covers the extraction of healing modalities from African knowledge systems to inform the Western medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries without due recognition, spanning centuries to contemporary times.

Participants will first watch the full presentation, then engage in a plenary session to reinforce learning, clarify understandings and share insights and takeaways. The Watch & Learn Symposia is a learning initiative to widen the scope of learning across geographical boundaries and foster communities of peer learning and interaction.
