The Reluctant Healer

.

This article is inspired by an experience I had recently where I was inundated with spiritual messages regarding what it means to be a healer. I was hit with ultimate clarity as the information flowed effortlessly and felt compelled to share…

Many may feel that healers are only those who lay hands, or people who use herbs. However, the reality is healing energy expresses itself in various ways. One of the insights I received was that, as a healer, our entire vessel is a means for healing, creation and communication. Ultimately, we facilitate space for healing with our words, we heal with our touch, our very presence and through our various creative expressions.

The thing is, I’ve always been a healer, but I never really acknowledged what it was until much later in life. From a young age, I’ve always had a passion for helping others and often had people share their problems with me, especially random strangers who would freely confide in me about their personal experiences. Many have always commented on how they felt much better after our exchange.

It was only when those around me who I admire for their spiritual gifts started to ask me for advice, such as interpreting spiritual messages, that I started to awaken to the understanding that others could see my potential, even though I had not fully acknowledged it for myself.

As I embark on this journey of self-knowing more each day and noticing the significant changes in my own intuitive abilities, I’m being called to deepen my relationship with this gift.

The most pressing message that was passed on during this period of clarity, was that if I don’t speak my truth and express these messages when they come to me, they will cause discomfort and stagnation in my own life as I will not be honouring my authentic self and owning my gift.

Although these intuitive messages are intermittently passed on, it is my job to ensure they are expressed to others (when they are intended for external ears), in order to help the collective healing journey. Keeping this information inside due to not trusting myself or worrying about how the message(s) may be perceived ultimately goes against my own good.

I was told it’s not my job to doubt, overthink or stress myself out about it and the more I understand this simple truth the more my life will become a lot easier as I embrace the natural flow of this reciprocal intuitive communication. The discomfort I face is because I am not aligning myself with this power as I’m still operating on the frequency of doubt and hesitancy.

The energy that comes with these messages also needs to be expressed. If that message or messages are not communicated, the energy remains in the body’s energy field, causing friction and a variety of issues including anxiety, frustration, anger, lack of focus and weakened self-belief etc. These are all symptoms of blocking the natural reciprocal flow of this spiritual communication. As the information is given to me, it is also my duty to give it out and share with the wider community. By doing so, I keep myself in a harmonious balance, preventing spiritual & physical blockages and allow myself to be open to receiving positive experiences.

It was revealed that when we do not honour the totality of our healing abilities, do not acknowledge or intentionally stifle our gifts, we stagnate ourselves, which can cause feelings of depression or feeling low. This is why it is common for highly intuitive, empathic people to resort to various forms of escapism, including things such as alcoholism or drug use to suppress what they are feeling inside, because they haven’t learned how to deal with and manage the emotions that they are continuously picking up on.

The discomfort is a message for the need for change, it’s a call to action to force me out of my comfort zone. I take heed of the message and I’m ready to break away from all self-imposed limitations. I’m ready to fully walk in alignment with my purpose.

Message to all the reluctant healers!

Stop hiding in the shadows, you have so much to offer the world. Don’t diminish your light, embrace your gifts and shine!
