Fundraiser for the V1lliage

12th October 2018 @ 19:00

grenfell3

Following the horrendous Grenfell fire on June 14th 2017 that claimed so many innocent lives in West London, Niles ‘Asheber’ Hailstones along with members of the local community reclaimed and opened the doors of Bay 56, Acklam Village as a place of refuge and support. It became one the main distribution centres set up by the community to assist the survivors, bereaved and wider community in the aftermath of the fire.

15 months on and The V1llage is still a symbol of community independence, empowerment and self-reliance, which continues to play an important supportive role in the on-going battle for reparatory justice for those affected and criminal prosecution of those responsible.

To assist in keeping the works going, Ancestral Voices is partnering up to host a FREE screening of the ground-breaking 2017 documentary ‘Ancestral Voices: Spirit is Eternal’ for a Black History Month special.

It will be followed by a Q&A with co-director Dalian Adobo and Ifa initiate Awo Ifaleke Anyandolapo to discuss the film and African Spirituality in general.
